Sourcing + Ethics

We take sourcing seriously, not just where our crystals come from, but how they're handled and by who. Every piece is hand-selected from trusted, small-scale suppliers who share our values around ethical trade, responsible mining and transparency. We are aware the crystal industry holds shadows, like many extractive industries, especially when driven by mass production and profit-first practices that overlook people and planet. However, we prioritise family-run operations and local dealers with conscious, long-standing relationships to their sources. This means we do not support buying bulk and destructive mass-mining productions.

Ethics can be a buzzword in the crystal world… often used without depth. For us, it's an ongoing practice. A choice to stay curious, ask better questions, and lead with honesty. If we don't know the exact mine a crystal came from, we won't claim to, and we'll leave it off the listing. What we do offer is clear, transparent information around locality and region, so you can make informed, intentional choices. Awareness of where your crystals come from is what gives specimen crystals their value, and is, in our opinion, the most important part of a crystals story.

We're also transparent about pricing. Ethically sourced, hand-mined and high-quality crystals cost more, and that's reflected in our prices. If something is significantly cheaper elsewhere, there's usually a reason. Fast and mass-mined often comes at a cost to both people and planet. That's why we choose a slower, more conscious path, working with trusted suppliers who value integrity as much as we do.

We're proud to source through UK suppliers like Hidden Earth Ltd, Carpè Crystals, Crystality, local rockhounds, and trusted global partners including mine owners like Kelly Rocks in Canada and crystal wholesalers such as Mariella Moonstone in South Africa. It's not about perfection, but intention, accountability, and doing our part to honour both the earth and the hands that bring these pieces to us.

We're all on our own journey inward and crystals can be powerful anchors along the way. At Haus of Moss and Moon, every spiritual description you read is based on my own personal experience and energetic downloads from working closely with each crystal collection, layered with their traditional symbolism and historical uses.

Our crystals are sacred, but they're not a shortcut. Their spiritual properties are for entertainment purposes only. They do not replace mental health support or medical treatment, and they're never a substitute for the deep, human work we all have to do ourselves. Crystals are here to inspire, to guide, to remind.
