Sourcing + Ethics

We take sourcing seriously, not just where our crystals come from, but how they’re handled and by who. Every piece is hand-selected by us, from trusted, small-scale suppliers who share our values of ethical trade, responsible mining and transparency. We prioritise working with family-run operations and local dealers who maintain long-standing, conscious relationships with their sources.

We know ethics is a big buzzword in the crystal world… and we also know it’s often thrown around without much weight behind it. For us, ethics isn’t just a label, it’s a practice. A daily choice to stay curious, ask better questions, and prioritise transparency. If we don’t know the exact mine a crystal came from, we’ll never pretend we do, and we’ll always leave it off the listing. What we can promise is full transparency around locality and region so you can make informed choices. We're committed to making sure you can shop with clarity and confidence, so we share as much detail as possible to support informed, intentional choices.

We believe in honesty and building relationships with those who share our values. No greenwashing. Just real care, accountability, and a genuine love for the earth. We’re deeply aware that the crystal industry isn’t without its shadows. Like many earth-based resources, or the fashion and beauty industry, crystal mining can be destructive when driven by mass production, exploitation, and profit-first practices that disregard people and planet.

We also want to be transparent about pricing. Sourcing crystals that are both high-quality and ethically aligned naturally comes at a higher cost, and that’s reflected in our retail prices. When you see crystals being sold far cheaper elsewhere, there’s usually a reason… and it’s rarely a good one. Fast, cheap and mass-mined often comes at the expense of people and planet. That’s why we choose to do things differently, by boycotting large-scale suppliers and staying in relationship with trusted, small-scale sellers who value transparency and ethics as much as we do so you can trust that what you’re buying is not only powerful, but consciously chosen.

We're proud to work with our UK suppliers Hidden Earth, Carpè Crystals, Crystality and local rockhounds we meet at gem shows, as well as trusted sources from around the world, directly with mine owners like Kelly Rocks in Canada, and wholesalers such as Mariella Moonstone in South Africa to name a few.

It’s not about perfection, it’s about accountability, intention, and doing our part to support practices that honour both the earth and the hands that help bring these pieces into our lives.

We’re all on our own journey inward and crystals can be powerful anchors along the way. At Haus of Moss and Moon, every spiritual description you read is based on my own personal experience and energetic downloads from working closely with each collection, layered with their traditional symbolism and historical uses.

Our crystals are sacred, but they’re not a shortcut. Their spiritual properties are for entertainment purposes only. They do not replace mental health support or medical treatment, and they’re never a substitute for the deep, human work we all have to do ourselves. Crystals are here to inspire, to guide, to remind. You may feel them intensely, or subtly, or differently every time, because crystal work is personal. Your energy. Your truth. Your path. Let it be yours.
